New Finishing Technology

The Release Leather Finishing Line is an innovative system designed to enhance and upgrade medium-grade leathers through a continuous and controlled process, capable of improving both the aesthetic appearance and the performance of the material without compromising the natural character of the fiber.

The process is structured into three calibrated stages — high-tech finishing, spraying, and hot calendering — and makes it possible to obtain uniform, high-value surfaces while reducing the use of chemical products and limiting mechanical stress on the leather.

A distinctive feature is hot calendering; this stage of leather finishing employs high-quality casting papers or release films as temporary matrices for transferring surface designs and effects. The new technology uses the paper exclusively as a technical tool to generate diversified textures and patterns, without resorting to traditional printing. This approach preserves the fibrous structure of the leather, maintaining a more natural hand feel and delivering a cleaner, more consistent aesthetic outcome.

Conceria Laba’s expertise in this technology translates into targeted technical solutions, including:

  • extremely soft and elastic base layers, ideal for full-grain nappa and tumbled leathers;

  • high-efficiency transparent pigments, capable of ensuring brightness and color fidelity across the entire fashion color range.

The result is a leather with a natural, soft touch and high technical performance, suitable for leather goods, footwear, and technical applications, while maintaining the balance between aesthetics, functionality, and process control.
